On February 24th 2016, just after 2:00PM, Saanich Police responded to a report of an assault in the area of Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary.

This investigation is in its early stages.  It appears as if a woman was on a walk in the park when she was approached by someone.  The woman received a cut to her upper body and ran to her car and called Police.  It is unknown, at this time, if the victim and suspect knew each other and the victim has been unable to provide any suspect description at the moment.

The victim has been treated at the scene by the BC Ambulance Service and will be transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons.

“At this time we are still collecting a statement from the victim and canvassing the area for witnesses.”  A/Sgt. Jereme Leslie said.  “We have a number of resources involved in the investigation including Officers from our Patrol Division, Canine Section, and Forensic Identification Section.”
