Last night, February 28, 2019, at about 11pm, we responded to a serious crash in the 3200-3300 block of Douglas Street involving one vehicle.  The vehicle, a black Ford Explorer, had just left the gas station at Douglas and Tolmie Avenue when the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled.  The driver sustained minor injuries, while the passenger suffered significant but non-life threatening ones.  Both were taken to hospital.

Due to the seriousness of the crash, collision analysts and forensic identification officers attended and the road was closed for several hours overnight.  It has since fully re-opened.

Our investigation into the crash is continuing and it is too early to know its cause.  Anyone who witnessed it, and who has not yet spoken to police, is asked to contact the Saanich Police at 250-475-4321.
