On September 10, 2020 at approximately 12:30 a.m. Saanich Police attended to a home in the 4100 block of Carey Road to assist Saanich Fire with a structural fire. When officers arrived they noticed the home was engulfed in flames. Officers then closed the road to all traffic for several hours while firefighters worked on extinguishing the blaze.

On September 9, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Saanich Police officers attended the home for a report of a landlord-tenant dispute. No occupants were located, and officers cleared the scene.

“The fire is being deemed as suspicious at this point while detectives and Saanich Fire investigators look at all of the evidence. It is too early to determine if there is any correlation to the report called in to the home last night and the fire hours later. There was nobody in the home at the time of the fire.”
