Yesterday, the investigation continued into the two deceased individuals found in Cadboro Bay on Tuesday, January 18th.
Scheduled autopsies occurred yesterday and Saanich Police Forensic Investigators were in Vancouver to monitor. Late yesterday afternoon, information flowing from the autopsies revealed that the deaths have been ruled a murder/suicide.
The deceased are identified as husband and wife Erich Mueller (72yrs) and Kathy Mueller (66yrs).
The crime scene at the residence in the 3900 block of Cadboro Bay road was released by investigators yesterday just before 5pm.
The investigation by Major Crimes Unit Detectives is now concluded and responsibility has been turned over to the BC Coroner Service.
There is no history of any police contact whatsoever in relation to the deceased couple. It is believed by both investigating detectives and family members that mental health issues may have been a contributing factor in this incident.
Family members were fully briefed by investigators last evening. They have requested their privacy at this time.
