On May 13th, at about 5:30am a male victim was robbed at knifepoint at the intersection of Quappelle st and Burnside rd. Saanich Police Patrol officer responded to the scene and located the victim.
It appears that the victim was accosted from behind by a male with a knife and $2000.00 was taken. As the story unfolded, it was found that the victim and the suspect were known to each other. Both are also known to police in the region.
Investigators quickly confirmed the identity of the suspect as Mark Virgil Daniel, a 41 year old, of no fixed address. Attempts to locate Daniel in the past weeks were unsuccessful and a warrant was requested by investigators.
The outstanding warrant for the robbery was executed by a member of the Victoria City Police on June 18th, at about 4:30am.
Daniel was released by way of Recognizance of Bail at court with multiple conditions on his behaviour. He is due back in Victoria Provincial Court on June 29th.
