Saanich Police are investigating the armed robbery of Shoppers Drug Mart on Burnside Road West near the Tillicum Mall.
A lone man with a bandana wrapped over his face entered the drug store shortly after 6 p.m. on Monday evening. He produced a dark-coloured gun, demanded money from the pharmacist and then left on foot after receiving an undisclosed sum of cash.
The unidentified man is described as follows:

– Caucasian male estimated to be in his early 30’s
– approximately 6’2″ in height with a medium build
– described as having piercing green-coloured eyes
– wearing a dark-coloured bandana over most of his face
– white hoody pulled over his head with multi-coloured logos on the front
– bracelet-style tattoo of unknown letters wrapped around his left wrist

There is a possibility that he may have ran to a bicycle and left the area on the bike. There were no injuries to any of the employees in the drug store.

Saanich detectives are sharing information with Victoria Police detectives in relation to several recent armed robberies in Victoria with similarities to this one.
