A clue…

Note to self: don’t leave your wallet at the scene of a crime.

On December 29th, Saanich Police Patrol members were called to the Tillicum Bingo after witnesses saw a male and female smashing a window.

Officers responded and found that a window had been smashed out with a baseball bat. Both the male and female youth fled the area. The female was encountered a short distance away near the Chevron station at the Trans Canada highway.

A K9 officer, searching the area, spotted a male hiding in some shrubs watching the female being interviewed by other officers. When approached by the K9 officer, the male fled. This led to a lengthy dog track, but unfortunately the male suspect eluded police.

Fortunate for investigating officers, a wallet was found about 30′ from the smashed window. The wallet was determined to belong to the male who had smashed the window. Inside the wallet a birth certificate and other identification was recovered by investigators.

The 19 year old Langford resident is now being sought by officers in relation to the smashed window. Damage is in the hundreds of dollars
