A Mac’s store employee called Saanich Police Friday evening about a customer who was threatening him.
Friday night just past midnight, a Shelbourne street Mac’s store employee called the Saanich Police about a threatening customer. The customer had entered and made threatening comments to the clerk and then said he would ‘…wait outside,’ for him.
Several patrol officers were dispatched into the area, and the suspect was located a short distance away by arriving officers.
The investigation at the scene revealed that the male arrested had been involved in two other incidents in the store.
Dec. 7th– the male suspect did not have enough money for his purchases, became irate and began throwing items around the store and at the clerk.
Dec. 10th, the same male threatened the clerk and used racial comments directed at him.
On Friday evening, the same unhappy customer entered made similar racial and threatening comments and then fled.
The suspect, a 28 year old local area resident, was found to have been highly intoxicated. He was held in cells overnight and was released the next morning at 6am.
The suspect was issued a court date and an undertaking with conditions, including not to go back to the store.
