Sunday morning, an SUV ended up through a hedge and into a house.
Sunday morning, at 10:20am, a 911 caller advised there was a car into a house in the 4200 block of Rossiter drive. Traffic Safety Unit officers responded to the scene.
The white 1990 Isuzu truck was travelling down Kenmore road to Rossiter drive. For some reason it failed to negotiate a right hand turn and lost control. The truck went through the hedge of one home and into the exterior wall of a second residence. The impact only caused minor damage to the home and the vehicle.
The driver, a 45 year old View Royal resident, had an odour of alcohol about him. The Traffic Safety Unit officer demanded a breath sample from the driver and a ‘warn’ reading was obtained.
The truck was impounded and a violation ticket for driving without consideration was issued, which carries a penalty of $196.00.
The driver initially claimed that he had some clutch problems and then changed his story to say his accelerator had become stuck.
There were no injuries to anybody involved in this incident.
