A traffic officer spotted an excessively speeding vehicle on the Pat Bay highway yesterday afternoon.
At about 3:15pm yesterday, a Traffic Safety Unit officer on a motorcycle spotted a vehicle speeding on the Pat Bay highway in the 4600 block. He estimated the vehicle to be going 140kmh and confirmed that it was travelling at 135kmh with a laser.
The driver of the car, a 25 year old female Victoria resident, was issued a violation ticket for excessive speeding, costing her $368.00.
The officer then spoke to the passenger who identified himself as a local car dealership salesman who was out for a test drive with a potential customer.
As a result of the speed, the white Hyundai Genesis was impounded under provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act.
The employment status of the salesman is believed to be tenuous.
