The morning of Sept. 12th, the manager from the 10 000 Villages Store in Broadmead Village contacted the Saanich Police to report a theft. Stolen was the oft seen rickshaw, whose usual spot was outside the store main entrance.
The rickshaw is a unique 3 wheel bicycle adorned with very ornate touches in a south Asian theme. It was secured with a lock through one wheel and to the frame. The rickshaw is from Bangledesh and had been at the store for about 12 years.
The rickshaw was being stored at the rear of the store outside as it was about to be donated to Tour de Rock as an auction item. It was valued at approximately $1000 and was to be auctioned off at the 15 year celebration of Tour de Rock on October 3rd at Bear Mountain Resort.
Saanich Police are seeking the whereabouts of the rickshaw which is not likely to go unnoticed. If you have information about where the rickshaw might be please contact the Saanich Police at 250-475-4321 or Crimestoppers if you wish to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-TIPS.
Please consider supporting Tour de Rock by visiting their web page at www.tourderock.ca. This worthy cause supports childhood cancer research.
