Friday morning 8:40 hours, the Saanich Police were called to the area of the 3400 block of Harriet rd. Reports were received that there was a male bleeding and calling for help outside a residence in that block.
Officers arrived at a residence that is well known to them, with history of over 270 police files associated to it since 2007.
Victims advised that two males dressed in black forced their way into the house with bandanas covering their faces. They promptly pushed the homeowner down and burst into a bedroom and assaulted the occupant with some type of metal pipe.
The 41 year old male victim managed to grab a baseball bat to wield in his defence, but promptly had it taken from him by the suspects. Both male suspects then fled the residence, leaving the area on bikes.
The victim was transported to hospital and was treated after being struck in the head and the back with some type of metal object. It took five staples to close the wound to his head.
A second male victim fled the scene prior to police arrival and has thus far not been cooperative with investigators.
Unfortunately for the victim, he was also found to have two warrants for his arrest. Once released from hospital he was returned to the Saanich Police cells to await a date with a judge.
