An early morning break and enter to a neighbourhood market in the 100 block of Gorge Road West was discovered at about eight o’clock in the morning on Sunday, March 3.
It would appear at this time that an unknown person used a large rock to break one of the windows at the front of the business. Entry was gained to the business and a quantity of tobacco products were taken.
Although the property was equipped with an alarm system, it would appear that the alarm was not triggered at the time of this incident.
Investigators will be reviewing video footage of the incident to determine if the person, or persons responsible for this incident can be identified.
The damage to the building was estimated to be approximately $800, while the value of the merchandise taken was estimated to be approcimately $200.
Neighbours indicated that some noises were heard at around one o’clock in the morning. However, nobody observed the damage to the store front until daylight.
