At 3:45am this morning, the Saanich Police Communications Center monitored a call requesting an ambulance to the 3900 block of St. Peters Road. Upon hearing that someone had been stabbed, police units were dispatched to the scene.
Arriving officers were met with a chaotic scene of multiple victims, witnesses and suspects.
Motives for this incident are unclear at this time. Apparently several males had been drinking in the lower suite of the residence when a dispute erupted. This led to a 31 year old male sustaining serious stab wounds. He was treated and later released from hospital. A second 43 year old victim sustained facial injuries and remains in hospital at this time.
Both suspects are presently in police custody. One suspect, a 21 year old resident, required medical examination for injuries he sustained and has since been released. The second 22 year old suspect was arrested without incident hiding at the scene.
Alcohol is believed to have fuelled these events and all parties are known to each other. At present, police are not searching for any further suspects.
Saanich Police Major Crimes Detectives and Forensic Investigators have been called out to assist with the investigation. Police remain at the residence in the 3900 block of St. Peters road and will be there throughout the day.
