Saanich Police are interested in speaking with an unidentified female witness that may have been present at the scene this past weekend that left one victim with stab wounds that were sustained during an altercation in a residence on St. Peters Road.
Shortly before 4 am on Saturday morning, officers responded to a report of a stabbing. Two males were arrested at the scene. One of the males, a 22 year old Esquimalt resident, was released on a Promise to Appear on the charge of Assault Causing Bodily Harm, and will be appearing in court in early May relating to the charge.
The second male, 20 year old Adam TAGGART, was held in custody and will be appearing in court later today. TAGGART was initially held for investigation on the charge of Attempted Murder, however, it is expected that he will be charged with Aggravated Assault for his actions during this altercation.
Investigators are still attempting to piece together the sequence of the events of this incident. The use of a kitchen knife during this incident has been confirmed and a weapon matching the description was recovered at the scene. Other household items, including a guitar and a skateboard, were also possibly used during this dynamic event, and have also been recovered.
While it is still unclear what led to these events, investigators have determined that a female was at the residence prior to the incident and may have been the subject of the altercation. This female was not on scene at the time of police attendance and remains unidentified.
Investigators would like to speak with this unidentified female concerning the events that took place at the residence.Â
Anyone with information relating to this matter, or anyone with knowledge concerning the identity of the unidentified female, is asked to contact Detective Bryan ROWAN of Saanich Police Major Crimes at 250-475-4387.
