On April 1st, several people reported seeing a large black bear digging through trashcans in the area of the 4600 block of Kerryview Dr. Police attended and found signs of a bear recently being in the area including numerous upturned trash containers.
Police would like to remind people not to approach a bear should they encounter one, and to contact police or conservation if they find a bear in a populated area. Police would also like to remind people to secure their trash cans, and if possible refrain from keeping items in the trash likely to attract bears.
