A verbal dispute between four pedestrians and a passing motorist turned ugly shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night (April 13th).
The incident happened at the corner of Shelbourne Street and Kenmore Road in Saanich.
The four young adult men involved in this situation were intoxicated and had just left a nearby house party.
An argument ensued between the four men and the 21 and 20 year old men who were driving in a late-80’s model Toyota Tercel.
One of the intoxicated men became enraged and he punched out and broke both the driver’s window and the passenger side window of the Tercel. He tried to punch the passenger but was unsuccessful.
The four men fled on foot. Police dog Brock and his handler tracked into the area of Majestic Park. Three of the four men were quickly located and arrested by one of the patrol officers who was parked in a containment role. Brock tracked straight to the same location where the arrests happened.
One of the men, a 22 year old matched the clothing description provided and had numerous cuts on one of his hands.
After sorting through all of the circumstances this man was later released when sober. He is expected to appear in local court at the end of May.
Charges of Mischief and Attempted Assault will be forwarded to Crown Counsel. There were no injuries.
