A home invasion robbery that occurred late Monday evening has resulted in an 85 year old male being admitted to hospital with serious injuries.
At approximately 10:20 PM on Monday evening, police received reports of a home invasion that had just occurred in the 3500 block of James Heights in Saanich. An unknown male forced entry to the front door of the residence surprising the two occupants of the home, the 85 year old male resident, and his 59 year old daughter.
Both occupants of the home were physically assaulted by the intruder. The 59 year old female was able to flee from the home to a nearby residence to request for police assistance.
At this time, it is not known if anything is missing from the residence. There are no indications that the victims of this crime were involved in any activities that could have led them to be targets of such an attack. The motive for this incident is unknown.
This incident is still under active investigation.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, late 20’s to early 30 years old, heavy build, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a white t-shirt and dark coloured pants.
The 85 year old was transported to hospital where he remains with serious injuries to his head as a result of the assault by the suspect. The 59 year old female was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
