On November 3, 2013 at approximately 0100 hours a couple entered the Mac’s Convenience Store located at 1510 Admirals Road in View Royal. While the femaledistracted the clerk the male stole the donation box for Remembrance Day poppies which was displayed on the counter, making off with cash donations supporting the Royal Canadian Legion’s veterans fund.
The Regional Crime Unit reviewed the in-store surveillance video provided to the WestShore RCMP and identified the suspect as 50 year old known offender Darcy Bruce MORGAN. On Friday, November 15 Regional Crime Unit officers arrested MORGAN as he left his apartment. MORGAN has been charged with Theft Under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code. Based on his extensive criminal record and other charges pending, MORGAN was held in custody to appear in Western Communities Provincial Court on Monday, November 18. MORGAN’s bail hearing was adjourned and his next scheduled court appearance is Thursday, November 28.
