Saanich Police are asking the public to be on the look out for someone trying to sell a Whirlpool heat pump following a recent theft.
Overnight between December 11 and December 12, unknown suspects unlawfully entered onto a property in the 6000 block of West Saanich Road. The suspects accessed and stole a heat pump that had been packaged for shipping on a pallet.
The suspects cut the shipping straps, removed the heat pump from the pallet, and left the property with the heat pump, leaving the owner bewildered.
The heat pump is valued at approximately $2500 and was brand new. It is described as a Whirlpool, model WGHP4636, and is medium gray in colour. The unit weighs approximately 290 pounds and is roughly three feet, by three feet, by three feet in width, depth and height.
Given the size and weight of the heat pump, a vehicle of an unknown description was likely used, and the theft likely involved more than one individual.
Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of the heat pump, or with information relating to the theft of the heat pump, are asked to call Saanich Police at 250-475-4321, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
