Saanich Police Detectives are investigating an incident that has left one man in hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
At approximately 8:40 pm, on Monday, February 17, 2014, a request for assistance was received from a residence in the 700 block of Haynes Road, in Saanich.
Upon arrival at the scene, Police located a male that had suffered serious injuries to his head. The victim, a 36 year old occupant of the residence, reported that he had been assaulted by three unidentified males. The apparent assault took place in an outbuilding on the property just shortly after the victim returned to the residence.
While the motive for this incident is still not known, it appears that this event was planned and that the victim was likely targeted. The investigation is still in the early stages and is still ongoing. Based on preliminary investigation, Investigators do not believe that there is any immediate threat to the community.
Police investigators are still at the scene.
In order to protect the integrity of the investigation, and possible safety concerns for the victim, no further details will be shared at this time.
