Saanich Police Detectives are attempting to identify a suspect following an armed robbery at a local convenience store.
Just befor 11 p.m. on Monday, October 13, an unidentified male walked into the 7-11 convenience store located in the 100 block of Burnside Road West. The suspect brandished a large kitchen knife, waled aroun to the back side of the service counter, and demanded cash from a female employee.
The employee complied with the demand for cash and the suspect male also attemtpted to make off with several packages of cigarettes which were being re-stocked at the time of the robbery. Another store employee was working at the time of the incident but was on a break.
Thankfully, there were no people harmed during this incident. The suspect male fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The male is described as Caucasian, approximately 6 feet tall, with a skinny build. At the time of the robbery, the male was wearing a dark coloured hooded sweatshirt pulled up over his head, a dark coloured fabric balaclava, blue jeans, and running shoes.
