Saanich Police responded to a report of an unknown problem in the 500 block of Judah Street at approximately 9:43 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17th. Upon arrival members learned that a home invasion had occurred and that the occupants inside the residence had been pepper sprayed by three masked suspects.
Saanich Detectives and Forensics were called to attend the scene and this matter is now being investigated by members of the Detective Division.
This appears to be a targeted home invasion and not a random one.
The two people inside the residence, a male and female both in their 20’s, were treated at the scene by members of the Provincial Ambulance Service. Aside from the Bear Spray that was deployed inside the residence neither occupant was seriously injured.
Given the targeted nature of this Home Invasion Saanich Police are not issuing any type of warning to area residents.
Anyone who may have information that can assist Detectives in this matter are urged to contact the Saanich Police at 250-475-4321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
