Some of you may remember ” Free The Fuzz” was an annual event held on top of the old Walmart in Victoria approximately 10 years ago.
Sgt Pat Bryant, Cst Sheri Lucas and Cst. Lisa Bruschetta will be camping at the Uptown Center Mall for 48 hours, in hopes of raising thousands of dollars for the BC Special Olympics. We are planning to have different events over the weekend including K9 demonstrations from Saanich and Victoria. We have area Chiefs and Deputy Chiefs coming out to partake in this event throughout the weekend.
The mission of the Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) for Special Olympics is to “increase awareness and raise funds for the Special Olympics movement.” Each year, the LETR initiative grows bigger and better and we are very excited to assist with that awareness. The police officers involved volunteer their time to help Special Olympic Athletes experience “acceptance, achievement, and admiration” through sport.
Where: Uptown Mall near Starbucks Coffee
When: May 1st at 5pm through to May 3rd at 5pm
The fundraiser will also include a dunk tank, face painting for kids, hot dog sales, and coffee by donation, as well as police dog demonstrations.
Hours for the dunk tank have been set, and will be taking place on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 11:00a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on each day.
If you can find the time, please come out and support Special Olympics BC, and help to “Free The Fuzz”.
