Saanich Police are asking for residents in the Glanford area of Saanich to be on the lookout for suspicious activity in their neighbiourhood following a number of reported acts of mischief overnight.
“A total of five families were affected by the actions of the people responsible for these acts” Sgt. Steve Eassie said. “Thankfully, no property damage resulted, however, the clean up and inconvenience certainly had an impact on the victims.”
At one residence in the 500 block of Baker Street, someone spread dog feces all over a parked vehicle. Another vehicle in the 4000 block of Raymond Street North had yard waste dumped all over the vehicle and yard waste placed inside the exhaust pipe of the vehicle.
Vehicles in the 500 block of Broadway Street, the 500 block of Agnes Street, and the 4000 block of Raymond Street North were all reported to have had their tires slashed overnight. Investigation determined that the air had simply been let out of the tires and that no damage had occurred.
“It is not believed that any of the victims would have had any known ties” Eassie said. “These pointless acts appear to be completely random”.
Anyone that may have information about these incidents are asked to contact the Saanich Police Department at 250-475-4321, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
