UPDATE:
The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) with the assistance of the BC Coroners Service have now confirmed that the body located at SJ Willis School in Victoria on August 22 is that of 25-year-old Euarchol Wanichpan.
Euarchol Wanichpan had last been seen on July 30 and reported missing to the Saanich Police Department on July 31. Given the suspicious nature of Euarchol’s disappearance, the investigation had been turned over to VIIMCU.
Foul play is suspected and police are seeking the public’s assistance in determining Euarchol’s movements between the time she was last seen and her body was discovered.
This investigation is in its early stages and it is unclear at this time what circumstances played a role in her death.
While investigators currently do not believe the general public is at risk, they continue to gather evidence and pursue a number of investigative leads.
Wanichpan is a daughter and a sister and we will continue to work with her family who have requested privacy during this difficult time.
If you have any information, please call the VIIMCU information line at 250-380-6211, or if you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- TIPS. (8477)
