On April 24, 2018 Saanich Police, Island Health and the District of Saanich attended a facility in the 4200 block of Glanford Ave in Saanich. As a result of the attendance an industrial kitchen-style facility was located along with, what was believed to be, cannabis in various forms.
A judicial authorization to search the premise was sought and granted. A number of items from within the business premise were seized including edible cannabis products. Island Health has disposed of food products in compliance with the Public Health Act and Food Premises Regulation.
“The business was not operating under a business licence and it was not being regulated by any health authority” said Sgt. Jereme Leslie. “In these types of situations there is always a concern for people’s health. In addition to these concerns the products seized are illegal.”
Saanich Police are still working with various agencies and the investigation is still ongoing. There have been no charges recommended at this time.
