UPDATE:
On June 8, 2018 the Saanich Police Street Crime Unit located and arrested the suspect. The suspect will appear before the courts via telebail.
ORIGINAL RELEASE:
On June 7, 2018, at around 5:30PM, Saanich Police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 3200 block of Alder St in Saanich.
Upon arrival police were met by a 47 year old man who had been stabbed in the abdomen. It was learned, through the investigational process, that the man had been stabbed by his common law. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect, a 42 year old woman from Saanich, was not located at the time of the incident as she fled prior to police arrival. A warrant for her arrest is being sought and, at this time, police do not believe the public is at risk.
