Saanich Police are looking to speak to anyone in the area of the CIBC bank in the 2900 block of Tillicum Road last night, June 16th 2020 at approximately 6:20 p.m.
Officers attended the area to reports of a man brandishing a knife and who had just smashed a window at the bank. There were several witnesses on scene that spoke to police however we believe there may be others witnesses who had a direct encounter with him.
“We believe there may be at least one person in the area of the bank who had a direct interaction with this man but left before police arrived. Investigators are trying to determine the events leading up to the arrest of this man.”
A 59-year-old man is currently in custody and facing charges of possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose and mischief under $5,000.
