Saanich Police are alerting parents of an attempted child-luring incident that occurred on Monday, November 15, 2021, in the Cordova Bay area.
Officers responded to the area near Claremont Secondary School just before 3:30 pm to investigate a report that a 10-year-old child had been approached by a man in a vehicle who attempted to lure the child to his car. The child refused, was able to make it home safely and told their parents of what had just happened. This very brave child did the right thing by refusing to approach the car, sought refuge in a safe place and immediately notified a person they trusted.
The man was described as 50 to 60 years old, wearing glasses, with tanned skin, a medium build, dark-grey short, messy hair, wearing a red sweater with a white collared shirt underneath, and driving an older, faded silver sedan.
Investigators are seeking assistance in locating this man.
