Our Traffic Safety Unit is investigating a collision between a truck and an e-scooter that left the rider with non-life-threatening injuries last Friday.
On November 26, 2021, at approximately 8:50 am a collision occurred at the intersection of Vanalman Ave and Glanford Ave between an e-scooter and a truck. The driver of the truck spoke to the scooter rider, but failed to exchange information and left the scene eastbound on Vanalman Ave toward the Pat Bay Highway. The rider of the scooter suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver was described as a Caucasian man, 40-50 yrs, grey hair, grey beard and wearing a high-vis vest. Investigators are looking to speak to the driver of the truck, which was a blue 4-dr Toyota Tacoma and captured by CCTV footage driving away from the scene.
“Motorists are required to remain on scene after a collision, provide assistance if necessary and exchange information with any driver and any other person involved that may be injured.”
