A 26-year-old man has been arrested after a sexual assault was reported to police that occurred inside a mall on Tillicum Road yesterday.
On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at approximately 4:30 p.m. a female youth was inside a store in the mall when she was approached by a man she did not know. This man started talking with her and asked her for a hug. He then began to sexually assault the youth. Once the man left the store, the youth immediately notified mall security who were able to locate the man in another part of the mall. Police attended and with the assistance of security arrested the man.
Noel Pich, 26, was held in custody and has been charged with one count of sexual assault.
“The youth in this case was very courageous,” said Cst. Markus Anastasiades. “As she notified security immediately, police were able to identify and arrest this suspect and prevent him from committing further assaults.”
