On Saturday, April 6, 2024, the Saanich Police, along with the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, responded to the 300 blk of Ker Avenue after being notified that a person was being held in a residence against their will.
Officers contained the area around the home and eventually the affected individual was safely removed. Flash diversion devices were used during the arrest of the male suspect.
A search warrant was executed and several firearms, a cache of ammunition, and imitation firearms were discovered in the residence.
Vincenzo Colantonio has been charged with 10 offenses which include unlawful confinement, pointing a firearm, careless use or storage of a firearm, and possession of a firearm without a license or registration.
No one sustained physical injuries during this incident and the damage to the residence was minimal.
