Early this morning (Saturday, September 14) the Carey/Tillicum 7-11 was robbed for the fourth time in recent weeks.
At 5:45am this morning, the Saanich Police were contacted by a 9-1-1 call from a clerk at the Carey/Tillicum 7-11. The male employee reported that he had just been robbed and the suspect had just fled on foot from the store.
Multiple Saanich Police patrol officers were dispatched to the scene to contain the area. A K9 team was deployed, but no suspect was located. Follow up investigators have been in the area canvassing for witnesses throughout the day.
A Forensics Investigator was called to the scene to assist with gathering evidence. Video footage of the suspect was obtained and is being reviewed by investigators.
The suspect description is as follows:
– Believed to be a Caucasian male
– Brown sweat shirt with the hood up
– Black bandanna and sunglasses
– Height 5’7” to 5’10”, average build
Saanich Police Detectives are involved in the investigation. It is believed that the suspect may be the same for all four robberies, however, as of yet this is unconfirmed.
Investigators are appealing for public assistance in these incidents. If you were out in the Carey/Tillicum area and observed any suspicious persons between 5:30-6am, please contact the Saanich Police at 250-475-4321.
