On Thursday, January 16, 2014, four teenaged girls were walking from the lower parking lot in Tillicum mall through Cuthbert Holmes on a break from school.
Shortly after the girls entered into the wood chip trail system, they observed a male run past them. The male appeared to be jogging and none of the girls thought anything about him.
Approximately one minute later, the four teenagers observed the male running on the same path from the opposite direction. The male was no longer wearing any clothing from his waist down, with the exception of his running shoes.
The male did not make any attempt to speak with any of the girls and simply ran past with a smirk on his face. The teenagers did not react to the antics, and in fact, found the incident to be humourous.
The male was described as Caucasian, approximately 50 years in age, brown hair, thin athletic build, with very muscular legs. The male was wearing a tight black, compression style t-shirt and bright neon yellow coloured shoes.
The male was last seen running toward the lower lot at Tillicum Mall.
This incident was not reported until late into the evening hours on Thursday night. The teenaged witnesses spoke with friends, and even posted about the incident on Facebook, prior to the information being forwarded to Police.
Anyone that may have witnessed this type of incident are asked to contact police to provide details of the incident.
Anyone with information relating to the identity of the suspect should contact Saanich Police at 250-475-4321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
