**** The owner of the sporting equipment (soccer) attended the Saanich Police Department to retrieve the misplaced equipment ****
On June 4th at approximately 3:30 pm, an area resident located a quantity of sporting equipment near a pair of dumpsters in the 3200 block of Alder Street. The resident believed that the equipment, which appeared to belong to a team or other organization, had been abandoned at the site where it was located. The concerned citizen retrieved the property and turned it in to the Saanich Police Department.
The equipment is described as high end sporting equipment from a field related sport, and consisted of more than one bag of equipment.
Further description of the equipment will not be given at this time, in the hopes that the rightful owner of this property will be able to describe it in detail in order to enable its return.
“This equipment appears to have been possibly stolen, either from a vehicle or a nearby residence” Sgt. Steve Eassie said. “The equipment does not appear to be new, but would still be of value to someone that may be missing this gear”.
If you are aware of a recent theft or loss of a quantity of sporting equipment you are asked to contact the Saanich Police Department at 250-475-4321.
“We are hopeful that someone will recognize that this equipment is missing, be able to describe the equipment in detail, and that we will be able to return the equipment to its rightful owner”, Sgt. Steve Eassie said.
The Exhibit Control office is open Monday through Friday bertween the hours of 8:30 to 11:30a.m., and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m..
