Saanich Police and the Victoria Police Department are currently investigating 12 different indecent acts which have occurred between December 3, 2015 and January 19, 2016. These incidents occurred in a few geographical areas within the CRD including near the Shelbourne corridor between Cedar Hill X Rd and Haultain St and around the Craigflower Rd/Gorge Tillicum area.
The majority of these incidents have occurred at bus stops and all the victims are girls in their mid-teens to women in their early twenties. The suspect has either made vulgar, sexually explicit comments to the women or has exposed himself to them.
The suspect in these incidents has a similar description and is described as a white male, approximately 40 years old, 5 foot 8 inches to 6 feet tall, average build with a ruddy/pock marked complexion.
Saanich Police and the Victoria Police Department are working in cooperation with one another to solve these crimes. BC Transit is aware of the incident and is working with both Police agencies. Both Police agencies are requesting that if someone approaches you and engages in such behaviour to call 9-1-1 immediately.
Saanich Police and the Victoria Police Department are reminding women, specifically those who appear to be in their teens to early twenties to remain attentive and aware of their surroundings. If at any time you feel unsafe, please do not hesitate to call 9-1-1. Any victims or witnesses to these events who have not yet come forward are encouraged to contact either Police agency.
