The Saanich Police Traffic Safety Unit and Detective Division are investigating a serious collision between a pickup truck and motorcycle that happened at approximately 1700 hours on September 30, 2019, in the 4000 Block of Prospect Lake Rd. Tragically, the male driver of the motorcycle died at the scene.
Investigators are working to determine the events leading up to the crash and our TSU Collision Analysts and Forensic Identification officers attended to collect evidence. The driver of the truck was uninjured and Police have been in contact with him.
The BC Coroners Service were also notified and are conducting their own concurrent and independent investigation to determine how the male involved in the crash came to this death. The family of the deceased has been notified and Victim Services have been brought in to provide support for all those impacted.
