Saanich Police are investigating an assault that took place yesterday in Brydon Park and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the person responsible.
On July 7, 2020, at 4:15 p.m. the victim in this incident was walking in the park when his attention was drawn to a man with a dog. The victim approached this man and confronted him in the way in which he appeared to be treating his dog, telling him to stop doing it.
This man then physically assaulted the victim and then fled the park carrying his dog. There were several people in the park who told police that they saw this man get into a car and drive away, returning shortly after to collect another one of his dogs.
Police are looking to identify this suspect, described as:
- Caucasian man, 5’10”, heavyset, dark short hair, grey t-shirt, jeans, black shoes, tattoo on right bicep.
- Vehicle described as a dark blue Volkswagen Golf 4-dr sedan.
- The dog was described as a medium-sized with a black spot on one eye.
“We are hoping that this person comes forward identifies himself to police however at this point he has not. As a result, we are looking for the public’s help in identifying him as well as to check the welfare of both of his dogs.”
