An SUV crashed off-road and into a power pole early this morning, sheering it in half and causing a significant power outage in the Blenkinsop Valley.
Just after 1:00 am this morning, officers responded to an SUV that had veered off-road and into a power pole in the 4100 block of Blenkinsop Road. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered that miraculously, none of the three occupants were seriously injured. The power pole was sheered in half and caused a significant power outage in the area.
“The vehicle struck the pole head-on with enough force to snap the pole in half. While the cause of the collision is still under investigation, speed is considered to be a factor and the driver was issued a ticket for not having a driver’s licence.”
