Crash results are in for the Labour Day weekend and the results are great.
A total of 12 crashes occurred from Friday to Monday:
- Eight crashes included damaged vehicles estimated at over $1000.00
- Four crashes included only minor injures only
The most significant injury was a motorcycle rider who laid his bike down on Brookleigh in the Elk Lake area. He came around a corner and encountered three deer on the roadway and avoided a collision but was thrown from his bike.
Enforcement by our officers over the weekend totalled ten hours with 27 violation tickets issues. Tickets were for offences like speed, seat belts and distracted driving.
Please remember that school is back so all school zones are now in effect. Our officers will be increasing our focus on school zones and cross walks all month. Tickets start at $196 and go up from there.
“Slow down, drive safe and remember that the change of seasons is coming, so pay attention to your vehicles tires, wipers and brakes,” says Sgt. Dean Jantzen.
