Man Wanted in Connection to Hamilton Shooting Arrested in Saanich

On August 13, 2024, the Saanich Police received a request from the Hamilton Police Service to apprehend a male who was wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant in connection to a shooting incident that took place May 13, 2024, in Ontario.

Malcolm Davis, who was considered armed and dangerous, was located by Saanich Police’s Street Crime Unit (SCU) near the intersection of Quadra Street and Cloverdale Ave. The SCU in coordination with the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team safely took him into custody without incident.

Mr. Davis faces the following charges in Ontario:

  • Discharge with Intent
  • Reckless Discharge of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a Firearm
  • Knowledge of Possession of an Unauthorized Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited
  • Failure to stop after accident x 2
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Firearm contrary to a court order x 2

He was held in custody at the Vancouver Island Regional Correction Centre and was turned over to the Hamilton Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit on August 16, 2024, for transport back to Ontario.
