Royal Oak Shopping Centre Incident Leads to Arrest

On November 20, 2024, at approximately 7pm, the Saanich Police responded to the report of a group of individuals fighting at the Royal Oak Shopping Centre.
When our officers arrived, they found that the altercation had already broken up, and one individual involved had left the area. Among those who remained, one person sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment. They were released a short time later.
The individual who fled was located and arrested just after 11pm. He was held in custody overnight and is scheduled to appear in court today.
Our investigators will be recommending a charge of Assault with a Weapon to Crown.
