On Thursday, April 4, hockey players from the Victoria Police Department and the Saanich Police Department will face off in a game for bragging rights, and to raise money for Special Olympics of British Columbia.
What initially started off as a low-key challenge from one team to the other has grown into a more involved event. The two teams, the Victoria Police Capitals and the Saanich Police Watchdogs, will play sixty minutes of hockey to determine a winner.
Senior Management from both organizations have embraced this opportunity to build camaraderie and have also issued a challenge: the Administration of the losing team will hoist and fly the winning Department’s flag in front of the losing team’s office for the weekend following the game.
The event will take place at Pearkes Arena in the Gold rink between 6 – 7:30 PM. Admission to the event will be free and all donations will be presented to Special Olympics of British Columbia.
The final rosters for the game are being prepared and the event is shaping up to be a game that will be worthwhile to watch.
Hope to see you there!
