Investigation into the death of a 50 year old that was pulled from the Gorge waterway Wednesday, February 26, continues.
Saanich Police Detectives, with the assistance of members from the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU), are still working to piece together what may have caused the male to enter the water from a floating dock on the east side of the Tillicum Bridge.
Investigators have canvassed area residents, as well as spoken with several people that are believed to have witnessed the event. Investigators are still looking to identify other people that are believed to have been in the area around the time of the incident.
The Greater Victoria Police Dive Team conducted a search of area below the waterline to search for possible evidence that would not have been obvious to investigators.
An autopsy has been scheduled for early next week.
The scene has now been released.
Anyone who may have information about this incident are asked to call the Saanich Police Department at 250-475-4321.
