SERIOUS INJURIES AFTER TWO-VEHICLE COLLISION LAST NIGHT

One driver remains in the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries resulting from a collision last night.

On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, just before 8:30 pm, officers responded to a two-vehicle collision in the 4100 block of Interurban Road.

The collision caused the white sedan to veer off-road, into some bushes and crash into a tree. The grey sedan went over a curb and crashed into a fence. The drivers were the only occupants of each vehicle.

A preliminary investigation has determined that the driver of a grey sedan entered the roadway from a driveway when it collided with a white sedan travelling southbound on Interurban Road.

One of the drivers sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. The other driver sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital.

Interurban Road between Wilkinson Road and Grange Road was closed to all traffic until 4:30 am this morning. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

Anyone that witnessed the collision or events leading up to the collision is asked to contact the Saanich Police at 250-475-4321. Furthermore, investigators are seeking dash-camera footage of events leading up to the crash in the 4100 block of Interurban Road.
