Detectives with the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) and the Saanich Police Major Crime Unit have been investigating the death of Steven Middleton after his body was discovered on July 26th, 2023 in Oak Bay.
While VIIMCU was initially engaged, the ongoing investigation moving forward will be led by the Saanich Police Major Crime Unit.
The circumstances of this death remain suspicious, and the Saanich Police continue to appeal for information from the public which can be provided by email to MajorCrime@saanichpolice.ca.
