On December 19, 2025, the Saanich Police Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, executed search warrants on two Saanich homes. The warrants were a result of an intensive drug trafficking investigation that began months earlier and remains ongoing.
During the searches, officers located a substantial quantity of what is believed to be cocaine as well as smaller amounts of suspected Fentanyl and MDMA. In total, approximately 7 kilograms of drugs were seized with an estimated street value of over $250,000. Officers also seized more than $180,000 in Canadian currency.
A 38-year-old Saanich man was arrested during the execution of the warrants. We anticipate recommending charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking to Crown Counsel.
“This is a significant amount of illegal drugs that has been taken out of our community. I’m proud of the excellent investigative work that our officers have done on this file to date. Their diligent efforts protect our community from harm, and I could not be prouder of the professionalism and dedication they show every day.” Chief Constable Dean Duthie
