The Uptown–Douglas area of Saanich is a major hub for retail, business, and transportation and continues to experience significant growth. With this growth there is the potential for an increase in public safety concerns.
To address this potential, the Saanich Police Department has launched the Midtown Task Force. Uniformed officers will conduct foot patrols throughout the Uptown–Douglas area to increase police visibility, deter crime, and respond proactively to community concerns. The goal is to ensure a safe environment for residents, businesses, and visitors.
The project is funded through a grant received from the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General and reflects a strong commitment to community safety and collaborative policing efforts.
