At approximately 5am on September 9, 2025, Saanich Police responded to a residence in the 4000 block of Hayden Court to conduct a check well-being. At the residence they locate a deceased adult male.
Due to the suspicious nature of the death, the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) was contacted and assumed conduct of the investigation.
A second adult male was taken into custody in relation to this matter and he has since been charged with second degree murder.
The victim and suspect were known to each other, and detectives have determined that there is no ongoing risk to the public.
The victim’s family has been notified of his death, and our condolences go out to them and his friends.
